Account and Data Deletion

STATUS: IN FORCE. v1.0 — 2026-08-29. This page is the account and data deletion request route required by the app stores. It is not a legal text; it describes what we actually do.

Who has an account?

Only businesses have an account in WAY-LOO (sign-in with a phone number and a one-time code).

Drivers have no account. On first launch the app creates an anonymous device record; it never asks for a name, e-mail, phone number or any other identifier. Your location is not stored on the server — it is only a parameter of the query you are making right now. There is no account to delete because none was ever opened.

How do I delete my business account from the app?

1. Open the app and switch to Business mode. 2. Open the Business details screen. 3. Tap Delete my account at the bottom of the page. 4. Tap Yes, delete in the confirmation.

It takes effect immediately and cannot be undone.

What is deleted?

• The photos on your listings — the files are removed from disk as well.
• The names and ad text of your listings.
• Your published phone number and address.
• Your sign-in number — the account is no longer bound to it; the number is released and you may use it for a new account.
• Your sessions — every device linked to the account is unlinked.

Your listings come down at the same moment; drivers no longer see them.

What is kept, and why?

Records we are legally required to retain are not deleted:

• Purchase records (store transaction id, date, amount) — for the commercial and tax retention period.
• Your distance sales agreement consents (version, date) — as proof that you were a party to the contract.
• Day-balance ledger entries — so the two records above stay consistent.
• A one-way fingerprint of your phone number — so the 15-day free trial

cannot be claimed twice. The number itself is not stored and cannot be read back from the fingerprint; it only answers "has this number used the trial?". You may delete your account and register again with the same number — only the trial is not granted a second time.

These stay attached to an anonymised business row: your name, number and address are gone. Deleting them outright would break a legal obligation and, at the same time, destroy the proof of your own payment history.

Requesting deletion without the app

If you cannot reach the app (lost phone, changed number):

Write to [email protected] stating the phone number of your account.

We verify identity by contacting you on that same number. Your request is completed within 30 days at the latest and confirmed to you in writing.

What about my data on the driver side?

No personal data is collected on the driver side, so there is no personal record to delete. Removing the app from your phone deletes everything we keep on the device (language, vehicle type, last 10 searches).

The only thing left on the server is anonymous counting that cannot be traced to a person (such as how many times a listing was shown), and the raw form of that is deleted automatically after 90 days.
